The Q1000 is Pharos’ flagship jet trencher. With 1000hp to utilise, the Q1000 can deliver jetting pressures of up to 15 bar, with a maximum water flow of 1250m³/hr. This enables the Q1000 to bury a wide range of products to a depths of 3m below the surface of the seabed.
Q1000 Jet Trencher Completes Trenching Campaign in the Mediterranean
Speaking of the recently completed campaign in the Mediterranean, Managing Director of Pharos Russell Edmondson commented: “The Q1000’s outstanding performance on this project is a testament to our incredibly talented maintenance and operation teams. Their efforts keeping the system performing at its best was pivotal on this project, ensuring a smooth and efficient deployment.”
Pharos’ Q1000 jet trencher was tasked with burying over 115km of rigid pipeline, umbilicals, and flexible flowlines. The Q1000 was operating in depths from 8msw to 670msw, with a target trench depth of up to 2m.
The Q1000 is designed and equipped to handle a wide range of conditions underwater with impressive efficiency and flexibility. With its advanced jet trenching technology, the Q1000 plays a crucial role in the installation and preservation of subsea pipelines and cables around the world. By using high-pressure water streams, the technology effectively minimises disturbance to the seabed while burying the pipelines and cables, safeguarding them from potential external impacts.
The completion of this project was not just a milestone for the Q1000 but also a significant achievement for Pharos and its clients. Operating in this capacity demonstrated Pharos’ ability to execute complex and large-scale projects efficiently and effectively.
